Presentation title: Managing the Challenges in Hepato – Pancreato – Biliary Surgery
Presenter: Prof Mario Serradilla-Martín, Miguel Servet University Hospital, Zaragoza, Spain
Dr. Serradilla-Martín is a Senior Consultant based at the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Division within the Miguel Servet University Hospital in Zaragoza. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and subsequently completed his residency in General and Digestive Surgery at Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital, Granada, Spain. His areas of specialist interest include HPB surgery, liver transplant and laparoscopic surgery. He will be presenting a case review focused on managing the challenges in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery, whilst discussing the role of Hemopatch in preventing postoperative pancreatic fistula. Other topics included are its use as a hemostat in HPB surgery and the techniques for applying Hemopatch in laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Serradilla-Martín has presented numerous congress papers, authored and co-authored several books, and is widely published in his field. He was recently named Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
